Hi, I’m Claire - a self-taught wildlife artist and animal lover.

I teach beginner artists how to draw realistic animals using pastel pencils, coloured pencils, and graphite.

The story behind my art is simple - I just really, really love animals.

My love for animals started as soon as I realised they existed. I've always had rescues in my life, became a vegetarian at nine years old, and later transitioned to a plant-based lifestyle.

Each one has their own character, their own way of being in the world. When I draw them, I’m hoping to capture a little of who they are, their soul, their personality.

I hadn’t planned on becoming an artist - I didn’t actually pick up a pencil until my mid-40s while I was on holiday looking for something to do. But that first drawing changed everything.

I didn’t know much, but I kept going, teaching myself one step at a time. Now, drawing is a big part of who I am, and I would love to help others get started too - especially animal lovers who want to learn how to draw them well.

my approach

I'm not about chasing perfection or over-complicating things.
I’ll show you how to build your skills slowly and steadily and most importantly for you to enjoy the process while you’re at it.

You don’t need to be naturally ‘talented’ or have gone to art school to create beautiful drawings. If you care about animals and want to learn how to draw them , then that’s a great place to start.

I teach step-by-step techniques that help build skills in a simple, practical way. No jargon, no fluff - just clear guidance and support. Whether you want to draw your own family pet, wildlife, or just give yourself something meaningful to focus on - I’m here to help you build confidence with your pencils.

I’ve taken everything I’ve learned as a self-taught artist and turned it into resources that help people like you feel less stuck and more confident.
